Self-Assessments & Reflection
This page reports the results of three self-assessments focused on my learning style, personality traits, and gallup top 5 strengths. I have included a personal reflection with each assessment to provide more insight.
Learning Style
Visual Learner
Visual learners learn by reading and seeing pictures. Using primarily visual methods of learning, visual learners understand and remember things by sight.

Understanding my learning style is beneficial to me as a student and a practitioner as it allows me to study and learn effectively. Using colorful visuals and organized notes, I am able to memorize and identify information taught in class and information shared in the field. This understanding will be applied in both my capstone research and my future work as a practitioner.

Personality Type (Meyer's Briggs INFJ)
Introverted: Inner looking and oriented to personal and subjective inner workings
Intuitive: View patterns and possibilities
Feeling: Prioritize people and emotions when making decisions
Judging: Prefer structure and order when making decisions

Although my introverted and judging traits are unexpected because of my creative organization and social nature, understanding my personality will help me be a stronger therapist. I can help prioritize my clients and their emotions when developing treatment plans and use my intuitive traits to create new treatment plans.
Strengths

Input
People who are especially talented in the Input theme have a craving to know more. Often, they like to collect and archive all kinds of information. I can use this trait to further my education on my capstone topic of interest.
Empathy
People who are especially talented in the Empathy theme can sense the feelings of other people by imagining themselves in others’ lives or others’ situations. Empathy will be vital in my career as prioritizing client emotions and wellbeing will help me be a caring therapist.
Intellection
People who are especially talented in the Intellection theme are characterized by their intellectual activity. They are introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions. I can use my intellection to learn more from my peers during our capstone experience and gain more knowledge of OT services.
Developer

People who are especially talented in the Developer theme recognize and cultivate the potential in others. They spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from these improvements. I can use this trait to foster mutual respect between myself and my clients and tailor my treatment to help clients reach their full potential.
